This will come across as profuse excuse-making because, well, it is!
I’m just finishing my second week at a machining job which I love. It is also physically demanding, and is putting something of a dint in my productivity at night. In addition to the hours and strains on my body, I am also finding it asks me to learn a fair amount, which is taking up some cognitive real estate.
As ever, I have about fifty possible posts in draft mode. While I navigate this shift, you’ll perhaps see content shift as well as my intellectual priorities take shape. This will not result in a change of schedule so much as a refinement in style and subject matter. (Paying members may see more poetry peppering the week, as well. I’m writing more of that!)
A few weeks ago I jotted a message to myself, which has become a credo:
Stop Opining. Start Making.
I am not employed by some media outlet paying for buzz feed. I am a poet assimilating complex ideas creatively writing for himself and his coterie, and it’s time to start acting like one.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Damn straight!
